Welcome to Yakball!!!! After MLR finally made me a player I decided to try my hand at reporting again… just a different sport, a very different sport.
FROM THE CREATOR OF FAKE BASEBALL… Just read that in one of those super announcer like voices. Anywho… The list is set. It’s time to decide who gets drafted where. And I have the inside scoop.
1. Carolina Flyers – Oliver Yu – Enforcer
Easy to see Charlie Bae taking his close confidant Oliver Yu here with the first choice. It makes a lot of sense too. We are quickly realizing that Enforcer is going to be a very important position, who better to go with then the man, the myth, the legend.
2. Montreal Maroons – Yak Andersen – Wing
This is going to be a bit of a disappointment to the Magpies as they were really most likely hoping to go with this pick but I don’t think we would see Yak make it anywhere past the top 5, and two isn’t too far at all. Wings are going to be important in totally fooling the opposition and Yak has the makeup to do it.
3. Warsaw War Saws – Gustav Ahr – Center
Warsaw starts off with going a little outside of the box taking the man who he thinks can score the most goals. Ahr is a good pick here but, there is a strong field of centers so at this point it really could be anyones guess. Mine goes here.
4. Atlanta Avengers – Demetrios Ooga – Enforcer
This one may be the hardest to gauge. The Avengers were all over the place with their name which means they will be all over the place with the pick. Demetrios is around… always around…… ALWAYS around. So that may help push him up into the first round.
5. Glasgow Nationals – Richard Head – Enforcer
Best name in the draft hands down. If only his name was Harold Richard Cranium could it be even better. Is this a good pick here? Who the hell knows. But I could see Celi going with an Enforcer this round
6. Seattle Thuderbirds – Saoirse o Suilleabhain – Wing
You zig, he zags. A pick off of the beaten trail here. Che wants to make a spash here in Seattle and this is the best chance to do it. Taking the crazy Irishmen will only spark the team and the city. Going against the Sounders they definitely will need some kinda spark.
7. Lake Tahoe Albino Otters – Jack Goff and Tequila Sunrise- Center
He can’t take a center. He can’t take two players. It’s not allowed by the rules but has that ever stopped Holden MeWilly before? Nope. Look for Holden to make a gigantic splash and ruckus on draft day about who he gets to select.
8. Magpie YC – Connor Sexton – Center
Irony at its best as the creator of the league gets the first pick of the league. Odd. But anyway he still gets his man in taking the young Sexton to come out and head his team. A true leader in the middle of the field
